searching scribbles on my so called studio wall. i got the old style gandhi glasses from ‘chor bazaar’ in bombay, one early adventurous, let’s go street shopping morning.
if i remember right, husband bought them for me coz he thought i’d actually get numbered lenses put on them and wear them. he’s a retro junky. don’t know if retro is the word to describe those glasses, but hopefully you get what i mean. he’s into collecting old things, the past, history. well, we both are like that. we could have a garage sale every year and still have a full home.
in a month, i’ll hopefully stop saying ‘so called’ and it’ll just be simply, studio wall. yipeee! but, obviously, if the image is off scribbles on my so called studio wall, then, thats how i’ll have to refer to it. future scribbles will be on my studio wall.

is your studio not in your house? that seems so luxurious i think i hate you. i only have a small desk. and i really want a silkscreen press.
if only…no need to hate me. feel free to empathise. my studio is in the house…or what for the past year i have been calling my so called studio. we moved to this place. 2 rooms, one the bedroom, the other a tiny little space, hall, kitchen. nice. the tiny room was supposed to be my studio. so excited! finally, my own little space to play in. within a month, i was sharing it with 2 godrej cupboards, a chest, a strange cabinet thing that the landlord left behind and random paraphernalia. eventually, the tiny room became a 4ftx4ft studio space. but i did have the walls, on which i did let out all my frustration.
so you have a desk. i have 4 tiles. but, 2months more and i actually have a room. and this time, nothing else in it. but, it is in the house. pockets not wide enough to get the luxurious much needed studio yet. someday…
silk screen press!!! now that would be a dream come true…for you and me. keeping fingers and toes crossed, someday you’ll get that press. now, the big question. where you going to keep it?
